The theme for 2021 is oysters.

Overview

professional chefs around the world submit dishes to pair with sake on a particular theme, and their dishes, techniques, and commitment are announced to the world. The top applicants from the selected dishes will receive ""a tour of a sake brewery"" in Japan.

Eligibility

chefs, cooks, culinary researchers
*Dishes of any genre are permitted.

Participation criteria

being interested in sake and currently working with it or interested in carrying it in future.
*Does not matter whether you currently carry sake.
*Any country of residence is permitted.

Evaluation method

Ranking by an overall rating through the following methods.
I)Rated based on number of likes on The World's Best Sake Pairing Facebook and Instagram pages.
Ii) Rated based on the number of unique views and accesses on the page where the dish was posted;
iii) Rated by seminar instructors' assessment based on the dish details posted on the application form (picture/description of the dish/unique touches).

You are free to develop the dish per your original idea.

*Any type of oyster or dish is permissible.

Preparation criteria

  • Use of oysters
  • Incorporating the content you learned in the seminar (creative ideas/cooking/seasonings, etc.)

STEP5Post an original dish

Upload the following to the form on Japanpage:Home
to complete the process.

  • Photograph
  • Dish name
  • Features of dish and special aspects
  • Japanese sake paired with the dish (selected on SakeYours)
  • Self-introduction
  • Shop introduction
  • About 3-5 items per applicant

The oyster dishes you submit will be showcased on the official Facebook and Instagram pages of The World's Best Sake Pairing.
